What is the DELE?

The Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) , granted by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Educationis anofficial qualification certifying the level of competence in the Spanish language.

DELEdiplomas certify the level of ability achieved by candidates regardless of where and when they have carried out their studies of Spanish, and they are valid indefinitely.

Levels

A1: Beginners proficiency in Spanish.
A2: Advanced beginners proficiency in Spanish.
B1 & B1 for students: Intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
B2: Advanced proficiency in Spanish.
NEW! C1 (From Nov. 2010): Highly advanced proficiency in Spanish.
C2: Nearly native proficiency in Spanish.

MAY Saturday, May 26th 2012

AUGUST Friday, August 24th 2012
Please note that in August only B1, B2 and C1 exams will be available.

NOVEMBER Saturday, November 10th 2012

When can I register?

May EXAM
February 27th – April 20th.

AUGUST EXAM
July 2nd – July 27th.

NOVEMBER EXAM
September 3rd – October 5th.

How do I register?

Instituto Cervantes New York organizes DELE examinations in the USA (see back cover for centers). To take the exam at any center, please register directly with Instituto Cervantes New York.

Please provide us with the following documents in person, by mail (classprogram@cervantes.org ) or fax (212-308-7721):
Registration form (signed and dated)
Photocopy of current passport
Payment: Cash, check or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) accepted.

How can I prepare myself for the exam?

Take our DELE preparation course, in a group class at Instituto Cervantes or online (AVE).
