Generally, the minimum class size is six and the maximum is twelve. However, in special circumstances, and depending on the needs of the course, Instituto Cervantes reserves the right to open a course with an additional student. We encourage students to register early or we may not be able to accommodate you at the time that best fits your schedule.
Instituto Cervantes reserves the right to cancel courses in which fewer than six students have registered. In this case, students will be notified and may transfer to another course of the same price range (providing it is not full), transfer to a course of different price (paying the difference if the price is higher or getting a refund for the difference if it is lower) or request a full refund.
Attendance is the student’s responsibility. Contact your teacher for homework in the case of absence. It is not possible to make up missed classes by attending classes in another course. Once classes begin there is no transferring between classes.
Payment may be made in cash, check or debit and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express). Full payment must be received prior to the first class.
Tuition fees are refundable only if requested in writing before the second class of the course. There is a processing fee of $75 for all refunds. Refunds will be issued to all students who cancel in writing by the refund/cancellation deadline. This can be done via e-mail or fax (e-mail: classprogram@cervantes.org or fax: 212.308.7721). Cancellations by telephone or regular mail are not accepted. Request for refunds received after the refund deadline will not be granted. Once classes begin, transference between classes is not allowed. Classes can not be prorated nor transferred to another semester.
Professors are not assigned to their classes until the week prior to the beginning of each session. We cannot guarantee that students and their former classmates will be placed into the same section if there are two sections of the same level running simultaneously. Instituto Cervantes reserves the right to reassign professors after a course has started.
Students may not request a particular professor for the class they are registering for.
Language courses require a textbook. The cost of books is not included in the tuition price andcan be purchasedat the Registration Office: 211 East 49th Street , New York, NY 10017 , 2nd floor .
