Their artistic approach is guided by a very strong melodic identity and through this fact the subtle ambient of Música callada from Mompou, is finding a perfect space. In the same way, the energetic explosions with ‘free’ spots featured by the Contemporary Jazz side, meets the ideal atmosphere in the rhythm and pulse of the Oriental Dance of Granados, giving a colourful sense to the final and unique musical picture. discussion: "Encounter with Vetusta Morla"

12/03/2012

Vetusta Morla is a Spanish rock band formed in the late 90s with the aim of going beyond the stereotypes of that genre. In their songs they incorporate sounds and rhythms akin to world music, while always maintaining a core of rock. Their live shows are powerful and intense. Their lyrics prefer subtle imagery to overt messages, which invite the listener to participate actively. These artistic cornerstones contribute to a feeling of belonging that grows among the followers of their music.

As a first stop prior to Vetusta Morla´s performance in New York, ICNY offers a Q&A with the band open to the public.
